Detroit Neighborhood In Icy Rut

DETROIT (WWJ) - A water main break has put the freeze on one Detroit neighborhood. Residents on Appoline Street on the city's northwest side are stuck in icy ruts that are several inches thick making it impossible for cars to get up and down the road.

People living on the block say water from the busted pipe has been flowing for about four days, and with the cold temperatures, it's wreaking havoc on everyone in the neighborhood.

The city has been out at least once to lay salt.

The Mayor's office says they are aware of the problem, but it won't be fixed until at least Monday.
