DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are searching for a gray van they say was involved in a hit and run accident that sent a paramedic to the hospital.
Officials say Mike Kotulak and Rob Kirkland – both paramedics – were on the scene of an accident Saturday morning on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit when a gray van hit a car they were near, causing it to spin and strike Kotulak- sending him into the traffic lanes.
Kirkland went into traffic to pull his co-worker to safety.
He was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for severe injuries.
The driver of the gray van has not been identified.
Police are asking anyone with information to call.
