–G Chris Osgood was honored in a pregame ceremony for earning his 400th win on Dec. 27. Club executive Christopher Ilitch presented Osgood with a gift and Kris Draper handed Osgood’s wife, Jenna, a dozen roses as daughters Mackenzie and Sydney accompanied them on the ice. –Osgood is going on a golf excursion to Scotland and Ireland this summer, a gift from his teammates for earning his 400th win. Osgood, who has never been to Scotland or Ireland, said he greatly appreciated the gesture, which is commonly done when a teammate reaches a significant milestone. Several teammates will be joining Osgood on the trip, including Draper, Jimmy Howard and Henrik Zetterberg.
QUOTE TO NOTE
“We wanted to build off the other night and that’s exactly what we did. We came out and continued to play great defensively. … We did a great job blocking shots, pushing them to the outside. Really made my life pretty easy.” — Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard.
