FLORIDA (WWJ/AP) – A big save by Joey MacDonald in the final minute of the game secured the lead for the Detroit Red Wings who beat the Florida Panthers 4-3 on Friday night.

As heard on 97.1 The Ticket, the Wings win their fourth in as many games in Florida, matching their longest consecutive winning streak of the season with this win.

Todd Bertuzzi had two goals, including the tiebreaker with 7:32 remaining. Pavel Datsyuk and Dan Cleary also scored for the Red Wings and Henrik Zetterberg had two assists, giving him eight in his last five games.

Joey MacDonald, making his first start in goal since Feb. 3, stopped 29 shots for Detroit. He made a spectacular glove save on Stephen Weiss’ slap shot with 27.8 seconds left.

Weiss had a goal and an assist for the Panthers, who have lost seven of eight at home. Radek Dvorak and Dennis Wideman had Florida’s other goals. Tomas Vokoun made 26 saves.
