High Winds Cause Power Outages

DETROIT (WWJ) - DTE Energy crews were making progress in restoring power to thousands of homes and businesses that lost power as a result of high winds.

DTE said about 12,000 homes and businesses lost power Friday.  As of early Saturday, only two-thousand customers were without power.

Outages were reported North of Ann Arbor -- along with areas in Bloomfield Hills, Southfield,  Livonia and Canton.

The high winds also caused a portion of a cement wall to collapse along the Lodge service drive near the Motor City Casino in Detroit.

There are no injuries reported.
