Red Wings Report: Notes, Quotes

--Joey MacDonald hurt his knee late in the second period when Jack Skille made contact with him. But he wasn't about to leave the game if he didn't have to, especially with his dad, Leonard, watching from the stands during the team's annual father's trip. MacDonald made 29 saves in relief of starter Jimmy Howard and picked up his second win of the season.

--Justin Abdelkader is making a concerted effort to shoot the puck more, in hopes of avoiding a slump that he ended on Thursday, when he scored his first goal in 41 games. He has 20 shots in his last seven games. Abdelkader's primary role is to provide energy and a physical presence, but he has the ability to contribute more offensively.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"A lot of it has to do with who I'm playing with. We got good chemistry. Me and Mule (Johan Franzen) complement each other in the corners and working around. With (Henrik Zetterberg's) playmaking and overall game, it's beneficial to me." -- Todd Bertuzzi, who scored the game-winning goal on Friday.
