Winter Weather Advisory On For Monroe And Lenawee
DETROIT (WWJ) - A winter weather advisory is in effect for Lenawee and Monroe counties, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
A total snowfall accumulations of 2 to 3 inches is expected.
The advisory warns drivers that the roads will become snow covered and slippery. As well as anticipating extended and difficult commute times .
The effect of hazardous weather; light to moderate snow will spread across far Southern Lower Michigan after 4 p.m. this afternoon. A quick onset of the accumulating snow is forecasted and will persist through the evening commute.
This additional round of snowfall is in response to a trailing low pressure system that will track along the Ohio River late this afternoon and evening.
People are advised to take precautionary and preparedness actions; such as having your car stocked with emergency equipment, blankets, water, cell phone with charger. Police advise drivers to never leave the safety of their vehicles if stranded.
