Bad Weather A Boom For Business

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - It turns out that doctors could be the hardware store's best friend.

Rick Willis with Manus Power Mowers in Royal Oak says older people are coming in and buying snow throwers because doctors are saying that shoveling can be dangerous.

WWJ's Pat Sweeting spoke with general manager Willis; "We have like 12 -15 different models...some are self-propelled, you just squeeze the handles and it goes by itself, I have an 85-year-old mother-in-law that uses one."

Willis told WWJ, "I'm going to be busy all day...doctors keep telling them, shoveling is the worst thing you can do, and the wife says, "you need to get a snow thrower," she is on our side."
