SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) – West Bloomfield Township police are looking for a man who stole a $40,000 watch from Tappers Jewelry Store on Orchard Lake Road.

Investigators say the suspect was trying on various watches around 5 p.m. Sunday when he suddenly fled.

Police say the watch is a Rolex Presidential, yellow gold, featuring a round black wave dial, Arabic numerals, fluted bezel, polish/satin yellow gold bracelet.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35 years old, 6’0, 200 pounds. He wore a short brimmed hat, a bulky vest, dark jeans and brown boots.  He is also described as “heavy” with “fat hands”.

  2. The presidential is much like the rolex hunter series, a symbol of social status. Well at least he stole a watch of significant value, if anything.
