DEARBORN (WWJ) - A Metro Detroit restaurant chain has settled a 15 month-long dispute over alleged wage and employment discrimination.

The Restaurant Opportunities Center of Michigan, a group of former restaurant workers, and Andiamo Restaurant of Dearborn have reached a “confidential agreement” settling their differences.

“This case created a dialogue between the parties which has resulted in all parties being more educated
regarding the concerns of both management and restaurant employees,”  said ROC-Michigan Coordinator Minsu Longiaru.

“With an open dialogue, management and workers can come together with creative solutions that benefit everyone.”

In a statement, an Andiamo spokesperson said the restaurant is pleased with the outcome, adding that there was no finding of wrongdoing by Andiamo in the case.

The UAW and AFL-CIO said their boycott of Andiamo restaurants is officially over.  No details were provided about the agreement itself.
