Pistons Report: Notes, Quotes

–Guard Ben Gordon is the only player who has played in every game this season. Tracy McGrady and Tayshaun Prince had played in every game this season until both sat out in Philadelphia last week. The Pistons didn’t have anyone who played every game last season. Forward Jonas Jerebko, who has been injured throughout this season, led the club a year ago by appearing in 80 out of the 82 games.

–Billionaire Tom Gores is still in serious negotiations to buy the franchise from current owner Karen Davidson but Red Wings and Tigers owner Mike Ilitch remains a fallback option. Former Palace of Auburn Hills president Tom Wilson, who is now president of Ilitch-owned Olympia Entertainment, said in a television interview Wednesday that Ilitch is still interested in buying the franchise. Ilitch had an exclusive negotiation period with Davidson earlier this season but the sides couldn’t reach an agreement on the sale price.

“I think I probably hit it. I hit it a while ago. I think I’ve been regaining my legs, regaining my body, reenergizing, so right now I’m not focused on a rookie wall or nothing.” — Center Greg Monroe, on playing heavy minutes in his first season.
