All The Dogs Are Stars-At This Show
DETROIT (WWJ) - Cobo Center has turned into Dogland this weekend as the Detroit Kennel Club holds its annual show, featuring more than 160 breeds.
WWJ's Stephanie Davis spoke with Evie Banes from Belleville, who brought 'Kilts' a Blue Morrow Rough Collie.
"He will stand beside wheelchairs and walk with the wheelchair person or he'll let you read books to him, he's just an all around good dog," says Banes about Kilts, a therapy dog she brought to the show.
Erica Sumptor from Shelby Twp. had her Standard Poodle, Raja, competing in rally obedience and rally and formal obedience.
"It's more of a obsticle course of obedience commands rather than versus the very formal obedience, it's a lot of fun," says Sumptor. "She's so big and fluffy, that kids just love to pet her."
One dog owner describes the show as a lot of fun, and great way to get into the dog show circuit.
