DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are looking for a gunman they say robbed a 74-year-old nun at gunpoint while she was locking up a church in the Detroit suburb of Grosse Pointe Park.
The nun was at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church on Monday night when the man, who had hidden in the church until the service had ended approached her from behind, pointed the gun at her and demanded money. The nun wasn’t carrying money and the gunman ordered her back into the church before he fled.
Area residents have been posting a sketch of the gunman all around the neighborhood. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Grosse Pointe Park police at (313) 822-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) SPEAK-UP.  1(800) 773-2587.
