DETROIT (WWJ) - There’s been no official word, but talk circulating in Detroit has a former key executive in Mayor Bing’s administration becoming the Detroit Public Schools next Emergency Financial Manager.
Two sources tell WWJ’s Vickie Thomas that Kirk Lewis has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Robert Bobb.
Lewis was the Chief Governmental and Corporate Affairs Officer for Mayor Bing until he was released from his duties Friday. A statement from the mayor said Lewis was going to pursue other career opportunities.
Governor Rick Snyder will name the next Emergency Financial Manager, however just this week, Bobb’s contract was extended until the end of June.
