–Oakland equaled its Summit League records for wins (17) and winning percentage (.944).

–There’s still a slim chance, if the Grizzlies get upended in the conference tournament, that they might get an at-large bid for the NCAA Tournament. Oakland was 61st in the RPI through all games played Feb. 26.

–Oakland and Southern Utah, who concluded the regularseasons against one another on Feb. 26, will play again in the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament. The Thunderbirds put up quite a fight in the second half, trading jumpers, dunks and physical fouls.

0 — The number of Division I teams that clinched a conference regular-season championship before Oakland. The Golden Grizzlies became the first D-I team to do so, capturing the title with a Feb. 17 victory over North Dakota State.

“I’d prefer not to play them again. They worry the hell out of me.” — Coach Greg Kampe, to the St. George (Utah) Daily Spectrum, on facing Southern Utah again in the Summit League tournament quarterfinals.
