Utica Kindergartners To Learn Mandarin Chinese

UTICA (WWJ) - Utica Community Schools are planning to offer kindergarteners the chance to learn Mandarin Chinese.

Students in full day classes would not only learn the language but also Chinese culture and customs.

The course is called Project Clime, or Critical Language Initiative in Mandarin Education, and is being paid for by a federal grant.

An open house is planned at Oakbrook Elementary School in Sterling Heights on March 16th, 6 to 6:30 pm, for parents who are interested in enrolling their children in the program for the next school year.
