Who's Your Bracket Buster?

A Saline man is helping college hoops fans get ready for this year's Big Dance. Pete Tiernan runs BracketScience.com, featuring two decades of men's basketball tournament stats.

He tells WWJ that one of the things his computer models look at is coaching, and that bodes well for both Michigan and Michigan State fans.

"The first thing you gotta know about Michigan and Michigan State is that they are coached by the two top over-achieving coaches in tournament history," Tiernan said. "Tom Izzo beat seed expectations by more than a game per tournament, and John Beilein beats it by four-fifths of a game."

Tiernan also tells WWJ that Oakland University, with its high-scoring offense, is poised to wear Cinderella's slipper at the Big Dance.

"They and Belmont both have, uh, some of the indicators for a 13 seed, uh, Cinderella. You know, if you wanna go out on a limb, Oakland is a surprisingly good 13 seed and they do have, you know, Benson in the middle is pro quality, so I think Texas is gonna have their hands full."
