Plymouth High School Coach Faces Child Porn Charges

PLYMOUTH (WWJ) - The coach of the Plymouth High School girls lacrosse team is facing child porn charges.

Sixty-five year-old Stephen Nyquist is scheduled to be formally arraigned on Thursday at the 35th District Court in Plymouth.

According to prosecutors, Nyquist is being charged with six counts of using a computer to communicate with another to commit a crime, three counts of distribution of child sexually abusive material and three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's office claims Nyquist was using a personal computer at his home in Canton to contact who he thought was an underage girl. He was actually talking to an undercover officer.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kim Worthy said the investigation tracked the coach's activities from January 30th to this month.
