Snyder To Present Gov't Reform Plans In Grand Rapids

LANSING (WWJ) - Governor Rick Snyder will lay out his plans for government reform Monday in Grand Rapids. He'll deliver a special message on community development and local government reforms.

Snyder wants state and local governments to offer better government accountability and transparency, spend less on employee compensation and share or consolidate more services.

Snyder has seen strong response to some of his initiatives including a day of peaceful but spirited demonstrations in Lansing Wednesday (March 16), turning violent that night.

The sit-in style protest had attracted more than 3,000 people, inside and outside the capitol building. They were there to oppose Governor Rick Snyder's budget plans.
