Southfield Murder Suspect Found Dead

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) – The search for a man Southfield police described as “armed and dangerous” has ended, with the suspect found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police said Mitchell Kitchens of Detroit was the prime suspect in the shooting death last night of his 28-year old ex-girlfriend who was found dead inside her Southfield home.

Her young son and daughter were home at the time of the shooting but it’s not known if they witnessed it.

Police said the 31-year old Kitchens was found dead in Royal Oak  Friday morning after evidently taking his own life.
