New Info On Explosive Device Detonated On Belle Isle

DETROIT (WWJ) - New details emerging this morning about that explosive device that was found at the McNamara federal building in downtown Detroit last week. It might have been there for quite some time.

The Detroit bomb squad detonated the package Friday on Belle Isle. The feds confirming that explosive components were inside the package, now being examined in Washington, may have included wires and powder.

Local reports say a contract security guard discovered the package back on Feb. 26, but instead of calling police, the guard just put it in a locker. The guard's supervisors were reportedly aware of the package, but took no action. The security guard involved has since been suspended as the investigation continues.
