Detroit Red Wings Roster Report

–RW Justin Abdelkader had a strong game, with a team-high seven shots on goal, as he crashed the net regularly and worked hard down low. He also won four of five faceoffs on a night in which his club didn’t fare well in the circle, losing 28 of 50 draws.

–RW Todd Bertuzzi’s games=played streak ended at 164 due to a sore back. He had not missed a game — playing 155 in a row — during his second stint with the Wings, which began in 2009-10. Bertuzzi’s durability was a concern before he came to Detroit, as he had experienced a variety of injuries.

–RW Jan Mursak was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids for the third time this season because of the team’s rash of injuries to forwards. Mursak continues to improve with every game, using his speed to pressure the defense and create scoring chances.

–G Chris Osgood (sports hernia surgery on Jan. 11) was placed on long-term injured reserve March 23. He is eligible to play April 8.

–LW Johan Franzen (pulled groin) has missed three games. He is day-to-day.

–C Pavel Datsyuk (lower-body injury) has missed three games. He is day-to-day.

–RW Todd Bertuzzi (sore back) has missed one game. He is day-to-day.
