DETROIT (WWJ) – One person is dead and another injured after an accident early Sunday on Detroit’s west side. Officials say a 26-year-old Detroit man was driving at 70 miles per hour on Wyoming near McNichols when he hit a 51-year-old Westland woman who was crossing the street.

Police say the driver then lost control of his truck, struck two parked cars, and then flipped onto a third vehicle. The woman who was hit died and the driver is being treated at a local hospital. It’s not known if alcohol was a factor.
