Nextwave To Offer 'Netcast' Networking

Troy's Nextwave Media Studios is holding a networking event April 21 that will have the potential to go beyond the people in the room. The event will also be Webcast, meaning that anyone with a computer and Internet access can participate.

What Nextwave is calling a Netcast will be held in Nextwave's digital auditorium at 950 Stephenson Highway in Troy.

The first 15 people to sign up to present will give a 5-minute solo or moderated pitch about their business, which will be livestreamed over the Internet. Don't worry if you don't sign up fast enough this time -- we will be holding these netcasts on a regular basis, so you'll get another chance.

If you are going to present, we'll provide you with a link you can distribute to your contacts so they can tune in and watch your presentation.

Your pitch will be archived and available for viewing even after the event, and if you like, Nextwavecan upload it to YouTube, where you can obtain an embed code to put it on your company website.

The event will also feature speech coaching from Nancy Skinner, professional media coach, national TV commentator and radio talk show host. She's also offering to conduct the five-minute pitch in an interview format if you're new to public speaking and don't want to go solo.

The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 21. The cost of $30 for attendees and $50 for presenters includes refreshments. RSVP to Jason Chapman at (248) 556-7552 or jason.chapman@nwave.us.com by April 16
