Matt Dery's Daily Update 3-28-11
The Red Wings got Jimmy Howard back on the ice this morning at the Joe just to skate around a little bit. Howard says his injured left shoulder feels better and he is not ruling out playing Wednesday against St. Louis. Tonight it will be Joey MacDonald in net against the Blackhawks. Johan Franzen also returns tonight for Detroit.
Michigan coach John Beilein says it was his idea to have Darius Morris submit his name into consideration for the NBA Draft. A committee of league scouts will discuss and pin point where they think he will get drafted and then he can decide to go back to school if he wants. Beilein says he wants Morris to have a successful pro career one day and not just get drafted, Morris has not signed with an agent.
Garrick Sherman has decided to transfer from Michigan State after 2 seasons with the Spartans; he played just 12 minutes a game as a sophomore this year.
