Michgian First Credit Union wins award for mobile banking: Lathrup Village-based Michigan First Credit Union has been honored for its mobile banking campaign with a Merit award from the Credit Union National Association Marketing and Business Development Council. Michigan First was honored in the Point-of-Sale category for its Michigan First Mobile campaign. Launched in November 2010, the new Michigan First Mobile service provides the ability to check balances, view transaction history, transfer funds and pay bills, anywhere, anytime, from a mobile device including Blackberry, iPhone, Android devices, and more. Michigan First took the idea of connecting anytime and anyplace to a very humorous, noticeable, break-through-the-clutter place, displaying humorous ads on digital kiosks within each branch, along with other communications channels. In less than three months, more than 2,500 members had signed up for mobile banking. More at www.MichiganFirst.com.
