MI Humane Society Holds Weekend Pet Adoption Events

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Michigan Humane Society (MHS) will hold two adoption events at PetSmart locations in Dearborn and Rochester Hills this weekend, featuring MHS' adoptable puppies, dogs, rabbits and cats.

The adoption events are part of MHS' off-site adoption partnership with PetSmart, which has helped find homes for more than 1,400 animals at four PetSmart locations in the metro area over the past two years.

On Saturday, April 2, adoptable animals from MHS will be available at the PetSmart location in Dearborn (5650 Mercury Drive), and on Sunday, April 3 at the PetSmart location in Rochester Hills (2724 S. Adams Road). Both events will take place from 11 am to 3 pm.

Adoption fees for cats four months and older are $40 at each of the PetSmart locations, while kittens are $75. Adoption fees for dogs vary by age and breed. Rabbit adoptions are $20. All have been spayed or neutered and received age-appropriate vaccinations. All cats have been provided with a free microchip.

Pet owners are encouraged to bring family members, including pets, to meet potential new members of the family.

You can view a list of pets that will be available for adoption at this link. Save time when you adopt an animal from an MHS/PetSmart offsite adoption center by downloading the preliminary adoption forms ahead of time. To learn more about the MHS adoption process, click here.
