Three Degrees Of Pat Caputo 4-2-11

Three players the Lions should consider taking in the second or third rounds of the upcoming NFL Draft:

1. Daniel Thomas, running back, Kansas State - A hamstring ailment prevented him from working out at the combine, but he is a 6-0, 230-pound power back who ran for more than 1,500 yards and scored 19 touchdowns last season. He'd fit perfect with Jahvid Best in the backfield. Big upside.

2. Mason Foster, linebacker, Washington - A terrific football player, perhaps the most underrated in this draft. Can play inside or outside. Will be a better pro than UCLA's Akeem Ayers.

3. Brandon Harris, cornerback, Miami - Is going to drop in the draft because he is short (5-9) and stocky (191 pounds). But maybe good for the Lions. He can flat-out play.
