Bomb Scare At Federal Bank Ends Without Incident
DETROIT (WWJ) - A frantic morning outside the Federal Reserve Bank in Detroit, as the bomb squad shows up. Two boxes were found this morning outside the building, on Warren just east of I-75.
WWJ's Vicki Thomas spoke with Don Johnson, an inspector with Detroit Homeland Security:
"We got a call this morning (Monday) of a couple of suspicious packages outside of the Federal Reserve Building here, bomb squad came in...took a look at the device," Johnson says.
"One was found, actually, at the front entrance of the Federal Reserve Building, and the other was found a little further east, and nothing to it," Johnson says.
The building was never evacuated. "Where the devices are, it's were far enough away, where the building would have been safe itself, however to someone that may have been passing by, it may have been a problem," says Johnson.
