Suspect Held In Southfield Stabbing Death

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A Southfield man is behind bars after he was charged in the stabbing death of an acquaintance.

Police say a not guilty plea was entered during an arraignment  for 24-year old Robert Tate, who is charged with second degree murder. 

Tate is accused of stabbing 19-year old Rakim Lane several times Friday in an apartment on Franklin Road.  Police say the stabbing was not a random act.

Police say Tate gave several different accounts of what happened during the altercation.
