Verizon Wireless Adds New Cell Site In Gaylord

Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Gaylord that improves voice and data coverage along M-32 between Gaylord and Johannesburg.

Coverage is also improved in the area east of Gaylord and Otsego Lake as far south as McGraw Trail and as far northwest as the intersection of Marquardt Road and Seymore Road, which becomes Whitehouse Trail.

To the southwest, coverage is improved along Johnson Road, east of I-75 and along Chester Road, south to Bob Lake Trail.

The new cell site is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency.

The company's ongoing network investment in Michigan now totals more than $1.6 billion. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed -- $5.7 billion on average every year -- to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.

In Michigan, Verizon Wireless has more than 2,100 employees and 65 company-owned retail locations in more than 50 cities.
