PLYMOUTH (WWJ) – Add Plymouth-Canton Community Schools to the list of districts weighing drastic budget cuts. Hundreds of people packed the school board meeting Tuesday night to hear about the financial crisis.
The state’s third largest school district is considering up to $19 million dollars in budget cuts — including teacher layoffs. closing a school and eliminating some bus routes. Officials blame a reduction in state funding.
The school board has two more meetings scheduled, with a deadline to reach an agreement set for June.
