Detroit Red Wings Roster Report
--LW Jiri Hudler has been inconsistent lately. As a result, he was a healthy scratch on Wednesday for the first time since Dec. 19. Hudler picked up 26 points (seven goals, 19 assists) in 28 games from Dec. 27 to Feb. 28. He has four points (two goals, two assists) in 13 games since then and has not been engaged.
--C Mike Modano returned to the lineup Wednesday after being a healthy scratch. The rest did the 40-year-old some good. He was energetic and skating hard. He had four shots on goal and some quality chances. He was one of the team's most dangerous forwards.
--C Valtteri Filppula failed to register a shot-on-goal in a game where his team peppered Cam Ward with 42 shots. Filppula is playing too much on the perimeter and isn't going to the net with determination.
MEDICAL WATCH
--F Henrik Zetterberg (lower-body injury) was injured in the first period Wednesday and left the game. The Wings said he will be re-evaluated on Thursday but likely will sit out the final two games of the regular season.
--G Chris Osgood (surgery on Jan. 11 for a sports hernia) is on long-term injured reserve. He is eligible to return on Friday but likely will miss the final two games of the regular season.
--D Niklas Kronwall has missed three games with an upper-body injury and is listed as day-to-day.
