Traffic Alert: Novi Road To Close Between 10 Mile And Grand River
NOVI (WWJ) - The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) announced the closure of Novi Road, adjacent to the Novi Post Office, for this and next weekend.
Novi Road will be closed just south of Gen-Mar Drive between 10 Mile and Grand River on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10.
The road will then be closed just north of Gen-Mar the following Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17.
The closures are needed so RCOC's contractor can install sanitary sewer lines under the road as part of the ongoing widening and reconstruction of this section of Novi. In addition to the road being widened to five lanes, a bridge is being constructed over the CSX Railroad tracks.
During the closures, the through-traffic detour route will be 10 Mile to Meadowbrook to Grand River and back to Novi and vice versa.
During the closures, access will be maintained to all businesses along this section of Novi Road, though, the access will be either from the north (for businesses north of the closures) or from the south (for businesses south of the closures).
The widening project will be ongoing until late fall 2011.
