Pilot Escapes After Plane Flips At Oakland-Troy Airport
TROY (WWJ) - Wild winds flip a small plane over at Oakland-Troy Airport.
The accident happened Sunday night after the single-engine Cessna had just touched down. A cross-wind pushed the plane off the runway and into a ditch. The aircraft then flipped over and began leaking fuel. Police say the plane, which was built in 1976, had extensive damage.
The 61-year old pilot escaped without injury by crawling out of a window of the plane. The F-A-A is investigating.
