Man Who Carjacked Elderly Woman Arrested, Charged
WATERFORD (WWJ) - An Oakland County man has been charged with carjacking, unarmed robbery and stealing credit cards after robbing an 84-year-old woman outside a Walgreens store.
Jeremy Strehl was arrested by Detroit police earlier this week while driving the woman's car. He is currently in Oakland County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Waterford police said the Orchard Lake woman wasn't hurt in the attack. She was putting her purse and goods into her car when she was carjacked. Police said the woman kicked her keys under her car, but the suspect was able to crawl under and get them.
Strehl was arraigned on a three-count warrant Thursday at 51st District Court in front of Judge Jodi Debbrecht. He's due back in court Tuesday, April 19.
