High Winds Causing Power Outages Across Metro Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) – The high winds are causing scattered outages across Metro Detroit. The cities dealing with the most outages are Howell, Southfield, and Walled Lake.

About 12,000 DTE customers are experiencing a power outage because of the high winds.

DTE spokesman John Austerberry…

Austerberry says they hope to have power back on by sometime tonight.
“It’s pretty well spread throughout our service territory. We do have crews assigned to most of those outages, so they’re out there working to get those customers restored,” says Austerberry.

We’re also seeing pockets on Detroit’s west side too.
