Gas Prices Up 10 Cents, Around $4

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - We're already seeing gas going for more than four bucks a gallon at a number of stations in Metro Detroit.   And it won't be long before the average price tops four dollars.

Gas prices in Detroit are now averaging $3.93 per gallon, according to DetroitGasPrices.com.   That's up more than four cents in the past week, and $1.09 higher than a year ago at this time.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel is in the Grand Rapids and Saginaw/Bay City areas, where it's $3.95 a gallon. The highest average can be found in the Traverse City area at $3.99.
