100 Computers Stolen From Ypsi Township Schools

YPSILANTI TWP. (WWJ) - The Washtenaw County Sheriff is looking for helping in finding the culprits behind two major school thefts in Ypsilanti Township.

Sheriff's spokesman Derrick Jackson said more than 100 iMac computers where taken in the heists on Wednesday night at George School and Sunday night at West Middle School.

"It was forced entry, so someone broke into the school.  So, trying to figure out how they did that, undetected, and then how they transported these, we're really looking for the public's help in this," Jackson told WWJ.

"If people have seen anyone who may have been transporting a while bunch of computers; trying to sell a whole bunch of computers; or storing a whole bunch, to really give us a call. That would be really helpful,"  he said.

Jackson said they're not sure if the thefts are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-SPEAK UP.
