Detroit Red Wings Notes And Quotes

--Forward Johan Franzen has a sore left ankle in addition to his facial injuries suffered in Game 2 and wasn't cleared to play in Game 3 until after the pregame skate. He then went out and scored a goal on a breakaway in the first minute of the third period, which curtailed the Coyotes' momentum. Franzen said he never had any doubt he would play. He iced the ankle and donned a visor to protect a gash on his forehead, suffered after being slammed into the boards on a check from Shane Doan on Saturday.

--It was a frustrating season for Drew Miller, who thought he played well enough to stay in the lineup but was often a healthy scratch due to the team's depth of forwards. Now it will be hard to take Miller out of the lineup. He is off to a strong start in the playoffs with a goal and an assist. He's playing strong defensively and is a key component on the penalty-killing units.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We came out and weathered their storm. They come out hitting, we got two big quick goals. From there, we kept going. Every time they came hard, we found a way to push back and keep going." -- Wings forward Drew Miller.
