Doug Karsch:Could This Dream Scenario Play Out For The Lions?

The Lions dream would be to watch rangy LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson drop into their laps at 18. But even if that happened I would be hesitant to make the selection because it would beg the question -- what the heck is wrong with this guy? So the second (and far more realistic dream) is to watch a coveted player like WR Julio Jones drop to the Lions at #13 and allow them to move down and grab an extra second round pick.

Kansas City covets a wide receiver at #21. Jacksonville could use one at #16. Detroit could package their pick at #13 and perhaps throw in a later round pick for a first and second.

And here's the preferred haul: Mid-to-late first, Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan, and 2nd Round, Colorado Corner back Jimmy Smith and North Carolina linebacker Bruce Carter. How about that for draft day haul? -- One trade and you help the defense on all three levels. Boosh!
