Stoney's Blog: Lions Pre Draft Predictions

As all Lions fans know one of the highlights of following the team is the release of the schedule. Yes it is that day where we all try and figure out how many wins the Leos can muster in the upcoming season. Well, Tuesday was that day, so it's time to make another meaningless gaze into the crystal ball. I say meaningless, considering this comes before the Lions annual Super Bowl, which is the NFL Draft.

9/11 at Tampa Bay. The Lions try to make it three in a row in Florida, but remember Josh Freeman is pretty good.... L 0-1
9/18 Kansas City. The home opener against a playoff team. Jamal Charles will run wild, but Lions will prevail........... W 1-1

10/10 Chicago. Monday Night Football returns to Detroit. The place will be pumped and the Lions will deliver W 3-2

10/30 at Denver. Champ Bailey will have at least one pick, but the Lions are a better team. W 5-3
11/6 BYE
11/13 at Chicago. The Bears won't need the a bizarre process decision to beat the Lions in Soldier Field this year L 5-4
11/20 Carolina. By this time the Panthers will be starting their third quarterback and it might be Cam Newton W 6-4
11/24 Green Bay. The last time the Lions win on Turkey Day it was back in 2003.The streak will not end. L 6-5
12/4 at New Orleans. Drew Brees' birthmark gets excited playing the Lions secondary, especially at home L 6-6
12/11 Minnesota. Adrian Peterson will be big, but Gosder Cherilus and Jared Allen get kicked out for fighting. Edge Lions W 7-6
12/18 at Oakland. The Lions have never been real good traveling to the west coast. They get enveloped in the black hole. L 7-7
12/24 San Diego. Philip Rivers has a field day, but so does the Lions offense. Santa Claus gives a great gift a Lions victory 8-7
1/1 at Green Bay. Packers need win for home field advantage .Lions need win for wild card berth. Close but no cigar. L 8-8

The good news is they will continue to improve. The bad news is they lose four of their last six. The better news is that none of this matters especially in the third week in April
