Fatal Fire In St. Clair County

CASCO TOWNSHIP (WWJ) – Two people were killed, two others severely injured after a fire Wednesday night at the Americana Estates mobile home park on the Macomb-St.Clair County line in Casco Township.

First responders were able to gain access through a side door into the smoke-filled trailer to remove four people. A 30-year-old woman severely burned and an infant died in the blaze. Two other children – 4-year-old twins – were listed in critical condition after being taken to Mount Clemens Regional then transferred to Children’s Hospital of Detroit. The victims were suffering smoke inhalation injuries.

No word as to what may have sparked the fire. An investigation is ongoing.
