One Killed, Two Injured In Head On Crash

FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP (WWJ) – Authorities say one person is dead and two people are hospitalized after a two car crash in Fort Gratiot Township Wednesday night.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the crash occurred on Lakeshore Road (M-25) at about 8:40 pm. 

Sixty-one-year-old Marsha Caswell of Lakeport was driving northbound on M-25 when her Kia Sportage crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Ford Focus, driven by 62-year-old Charles Maes of Lexington. Maes’ wife Lisa was a passenger in his car.

All three were transported to Port Huron Hospital, where Charles Maes was pronounced dead. 

Lisa Maes is being treated at Port Huron Hospital, while Caswell was flown to a Detroit Hospital. 

No injury status on either survivor is available. The accident remains under investigation.
