Granholm Speaks In Arkansas About Clean Energy Investments

DETROIT (WWJ) - Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm went to Arkansas to call for new investments in clean energy.

Granholm spoke Thursday evening at the Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock.

The Democrat says the federal government needs to do more to develop solar energy and other forms of power.

Granholm told the story of a Michigan town, Greenville, that lost the Elextrolux refrigerator plant to Mexico, but has started to replace those jobs with solar panel factories.

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe introduced Granholm by calling on audience members to "evangelize in the old Southern way'' about clean energy.
