StartUp's Get To Pitch Biz Ideas To Monied Audience

DETROIT (WWJ) - About two dozen startup companies will pitch their products to a team of potential investors in Detroit this week. And the winner will walk about with a sizable investment to get their idea off the ground.

WWJ spoke with Jordan Wolfe, who is co-founder of the "Funded by Night" competition.

"They get three minutes on stage to pitch their product to potential investors and to the broader crowd," says Wolfe.  "Four hours later that same day, one of those companies will walk away with a 100,000 dollar check from two local venture capital firms."

The one day competition takes place at Detroit's Eastern Market on Thursday. It centers mostly around technology start-ups.
