Troy Voters Say Pollster Using Scare Tactics

TROY (WWJ) – Voters in Troy are accusing a pollster of using scare tactics to win support of a tax increase.

But city officials say they are trying to spell out budget realities, that residents must choose between higher taxes or reduced services.

Members of the anti-tax group Troy Citizens United claim they were warned by a pollster that police would discontinue some investigations and eliminate the traffic safety unit, among other services, unless they approved a tax request.
