Traverse City-based Appia Communications Inc., announced the successful expansion of its data center and cloud services at its offices in downtown St. Louis.
Appia will use this managed facility to offer enterprise-class virtual private servers, managed dedicated servers, cloud based storage, and turn-key data center services.
Appia announced a master data center lease agreement with San Francisco, Calif.-based Digital Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE: DLR) for space in Digital Realty’s 210 N. Tucker property in downtown St. Louis.
Besides using the space to expand the colocation services it offers to customers, Appia will use the space as the U.S. headquarters for Appia’s data center-related business.
“Server-based applications continue to grow across all sectors,” said Victor von Schlegell, Appia President. “Our new data center is the answer for customers who face the choice to buy or build. The key is flexibility; customers can start with a virtual private server and grow into full managed data center space.”
Appia’s data center offering includes advanced monitoring of both devices and applications. Administrators are updated about the status of their critical operations via email, phone, or text message. The data center also includes smart hands support.
“We built the data center around the features our customers have told us are most important,” said Matt Siemens, vice president of marketing at Appia. “Backed by multiple backbone connections with battery and generator power, customers can be assured of 99.999 percent uptime. And our on-site network operations center provides professional support anytime day or night.”
Services available include:
* Virtual Private Servers – Available in four different, affordable increments in both Linux and Windows environments
* Managed Dedicated Servers – Appia-managed platforms for customers who need dedicated computing power and security
* Cloud Storage – SAS 70 secure storage at multiple geographically diverse locations
* Cabinet Space – From 1RU to a full cabinet and with single or dual power connections
* Managed Data Center – For customers with larger needs, square footage with custom power, space, and telecom connections
“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to support Appia Communication’s growth by providing it with flexible, secure and state-of-the-art data center facilities,” said Brent Behrman, senior vice president of sales at Digital Realty Trust.
