The Tigers losing streak has now reached 7 and it will not get any easier for the Detroiters tonight at home against the Yankees. New York’s ace C.C. Sabathia is on the hill for the bombers who has struggled recently at Comerica Park going 0-3 in his last 3 starts and an ERA over 8. Scott Sizemore is up from Toledo and will be the everyday second baseman for now. Tigers counter with Brad Penny tonight.

The Red Wings getting back to work at the Joe today, the team down 0-2 to the Sharks and according to Mike Babcock he has yet to make any decision on lineup changes for tomorrow night. Kris Draper says he is back in the lineup and will spell Drew Miller. Mike Modano believes he is still not playing.

NFL.com writer Jason Lacanfora reports that the Lions were desperate to move up into the top 5 of the draft last Thursday night. Lions were trying to pull off a trade for LSU CB Patrick Peterson but they could not get a deal done.

Colletto gave the impression that Stanton wasnt an NFL-caliber player and perhaps the Lions had given up on him…Wrong on both counts…..Stanton will be used again but Collettos other remarks — he said Stanton still needs another preseason — have a ring of truth to them. ..He messed up some play calls and he held onto the ball too long but he will learn that sometimes air-mailing the ball out of bounds is better than trying to keep a dead play alive.
