Hearing For Man Charged In Livonia Officer's Death
NOVI (WWJ) - A Detroit man accused of being involved in the murder of a Livonia police officer was in court for a preliminary hearing.
The 48-year-old Terry Bowling is accused of being part of a burglary in Walled Lake, last January 17th.
Authorities said brothers were under police surveillance, suspected in a series of home invasions, and were caught in the act. Livonia Police Officer Larry Nehasil was killed in a gunfight with Bowling's brother David, who was also fatally shot that day.
Wednesday, a Livonia undercover officer testified that he arrived on the scene as Terry Bowling was being apprehended.
"I exited my car, and just as I had exited I heard a series of shots," he said.
The Oakland County Medical Examiner testified Nehasil was shot four times, including a fatal shot to the head.
Bowling's preliminary exam was scheduled to continue on Thursday in Novi District Court.
